Paul Burchell

The Author Paul Burchell pictured on the day of his retirement, with the current Chief Constable Simon Cole. Paul had been proud to serve the Leicestershire Constabulary for over 30 years. A career detective, his last few years had been spent in the East Midlands Special Operations Unit investigating Murders in the Midlands Counties.

Now retired Paul enjoys Country Sports with his wife April, in particular they enjoy Salmon Fishing in the Scottish Borders, and Grayling fishing on the River Derwent in North Derbyshire.

The couple have raised three children, namely Matthew, Katie and Emma.

Paul has three working Labradors, George, Bella and Molly.

The author Paul Burchell stands on the Beach at Dunkirk 100 years after is Grand Father Ernest Burchell. Much has changed in this period of time, so many relatives of both wars have tried to retrace their forefathers footsteps. Paul hopes that some of the readers of this book will do likewise, ‘we must never forget the sacrifices that two generations made in these two terrible conflicts.’
